In dit vierde deel laat Tomeï ons vanuit de lucht onder andere zien dat de bovenkant van Nederland door een steeds levendiger wordende architectuur steeds kleurrijker wordt. Tomeï's nieuwe fotoboek gaat gepaard met een gratis iPhone app waar nog eens 75 extra luchtfoto's op te bewonderen zijn. Strandhuisjes waren altijd wit. Tot ongeveer 15 jaar geleden. Sindsdien zie je, vooral in Zeeland de meest wild gekleurde strandhuisjes. Vanuit de lucht ziet Tomeï diezelfde ontwikkeling in de Nederlandse steden terugkomen. Het Centrum voor Levenswetenschap (Groningen)* ligt bijvoorbeeld als een origami vouwsel tussen alle andere gebouwen en de huisjes aan de Reitdiephaven te Groningen vormen een kleurrijk geheel. Karel Tomeï: 'Het beeld is veel speelser geworden, maar waar die neiging vandaan komt, laat zich raden.' Geordend patroon In nummer 4 heeft Tomeï niet alleen oog voor de opvallende objecten van de bovenkant van Nederland. Ook juist de minder bekende schoonheden van ons land komen aan bod. Want ook in de natuur zijn van bovenaf telkens weer nieuwe ontdekkingen te doen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan het poldergebied bij Nieuw Loosdrecht of de Apostelhoeve bij Maastricht. Volgens Tomeï zegt een landschap veel over een volk. 'Waar in het buitenland de duidelijke structuur soms ver te zoeken is, kent Nederland een geordend patroon: alle werktuigen staan er keurig op zijn plaats en zelfs de boerderijen zien er netjes uit,' aldus Tomeï.
